SMS Terms

Motorcycle Safety Academy (“we,” “our,” “us”) offers SMS text messaging to enrolled students who opt in during online course registration. This page describes our SMS program, how to opt in, and your rights as a recipient.

How to Opt In

To opt in to SMS messages from Motorcycle Safety Academy, register for a course at motorcyclesafetyacademy.com/schedule/. During registration, the form includes a dedicated SMS Consent section with an unchecked checkbox containing the following disclosure:

Yes, I agree to receive SMS text messages from Motorcycle Safety Academy about my course registration, schedule updates, eCourse reminders, weather cancellations, and customer service. Up to 10 messages per month. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Consent is not required for course registration. See our SMS Terms, Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.

The checkbox is unchecked by default and is optional. Course registration can be completed without opting in to SMS. Students who do not opt in will be contacted via email or phone call instead.

SMS Program Details

Program Description

When you opt in to SMS messages from Motorcycle Safety Academy, you may receive text messages related to:

  • Course registration confirmations
  • Schedule updates and changes
  • eCourse reminders
  • Weather-related cancellations
  • Follow-up after phone calls
  • Customer service responses

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages.

Message Frequency

Up to 10 messages per month per registered student, depending on course activity. Frequency may be higher around active course dates.

Message and Data Rates

Standard message and data rates may apply per your mobile carrier’s plan. Motorcycle Safety Academy does not charge for SMS messages, but your carrier may.

How to Opt Out

You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. You will receive a confirmation message and will not receive further SMS messages. You may opt back in at any time by replying START.

Consent Is Not a Condition of Purchase

SMS consent is not required for course registration. If you choose not to receive SMS messages, your registration will proceed normally and we will use email or phone calls for communication.

Privacy and Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of personal information exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

When you opt in to SMS, we collect and store your mobile phone number, the timestamp of your opt-in, your IP address at the time of opt-in, and a record of the consent language you agreed to. This information is retained as proof of consent.
