MOTORCYCLE MECHANIC

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Motorcycle Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of training motorcycles. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring all motorcycles are safe, reliable, and ready for student use. This position may include flexible scheduling options and opportunities for additional hours during peak training seasons.

Responsibilities

A Motorcycle Mechanic will be responsible for the following:

– Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake inspections, tire changes, chain adjustments, and battery replacements;

– Diagnose mechanical issues and perform minor to moderate repairs as needed;

– Conduct safety inspections before motorcycles are deployed for classes;

– Maintain detailed maintenance and repair logs for each motorcycle;

– Assist in seasonal fleet preparation, winterization, and de-winterization as needed;

– Ensure motorcycles meet all safety and operational standards required for training purposes;

– Communicate effectively with instructors and administrative staff about repair needs or vehicle downtime;

– Maintain inventory of common repair parts, supplies, and tools;

– Assist in minor trailer, container, and equipment maintenance (if applicable);

– Support transport, setup, and breakdown of motorcycles at training locations if needed; and

– Ensure proper handling, storage, and security of motorcycles and equipment.

 

Qualifications

To apply for this position, the following is a list of preferred qualifications:

– 2+ years of motorcycle maintenance or repair experience (professional or personal background considered);

– Strong working knowledge of motorcycle mechanical systems;

– Ability to diagnose and solve mechanical problems independently;

– Valid motorcycle license preferred (not always required, depending on role);

– Basic tool set and familiarity with standard repair equipment;

– Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;

– Ability to lift motorcycles using proper safety techniques (sometimes with assistance); and

– Flexible and reliable work ethic.
